System Overview

Komondor is a HPE Cray EX supercomputer located at HPC center at Debrecen University campus and has a 6 petaflops theoretical peak performance. It consists of several hardware partitions targeted different use cases. All the hardware partitions are connected via an HPE Slingshot 11 high-speed interconnect. It is the fastest system in Hungary and can be used for a wide range of traditional computational science applications.

The primary compute power in Komondor is found in the GPU hardware partition which features GPU accelerated nodes using Nvidia A100 GPUs. In addition to this, there is a CPU-only hardware partition that features AMD EPYC “Milan” CPUs, as well as a small AI partition with Nvidia A100 GPUs and a Big Data hardware partition featuring a single large node with 12 TB memory.
