Topology

The Slingshow network connects the compute partitions with the storage and infrastructure nodes. The Slingshot switches are high throughput network adapters, with 64x 200 Gb/s ports. Adaptive routing, based on HPE Slingshot’s ability to track real-time information on load across each switch-to-switch path, can dynamically re-route traffic to balance loads to improve network performance and bandwidth utilization. The network is configured in a Dragonfly topology.

How to use the Slinghsot network

Compute nodes can communicate with each other through the Slingshot network without congestion. To use the Slingshot network, simply use the given node’s Slingshot host name. In this way, the IP communication will happen through the Slingshot adapter.

On the CPU nodes:

$HOSTNAME.hsn.komondor.hpc.einfra.hu

On the GPU nodes:

$HOSTNAME-hsn0.hsn.komondor.hpc.einfra.hu
