The project filesystem

The project filesystem is based on HPE Cray ClusterStor E1000 storage, which has disk-based SSUs (Scalable Storage Units). There are four OSSes (Object Storage Servers) that together serve six OSTs (Object Storage Targets). Each OST has 42 disks, and so the six OSTs together provide a total of 2759TiB usable capacity for project.

It is important for users to familiarize themselves with the characteristics of both the filesystem and their applications and adjust IO in their workflows accordingly. (See Performance considerations)
